[PVS] The 4th European Conference on Smart Sensing and Context(EuroSSC 2009)

Title: Dear

We would like to invite you to consider the 4th European Conference on Smart Sensing and Context (EuroSSC 2009) for submitting a publication of your research activities.

EuroSSC 2008 will gather more that 100 participants discussing topics of distributed smart sensing, context recognition and processing, context-aware sensor&actuator networks, and Integration with the Internet of the Future.

It aims at a vertical discussion, ranging from the sensor level up to context processing and applications, with special emphasis on the considerations at the interfaces.

New to this edition is the inclusion of considerations on Quality of Sensing, Quality of Context, and Sensor&Actuator Networks, Real World Internet, and Context-aware service platforms as part of the topics of the call.

Past editions were held at ETH Switzerland (2008), University of Lancaster in UK (2007), and University of Twente, Netherlands (2006), with about 100-140 participants.

The keynote speakers for the conference will be Professor Amit Sheth from Wright State University (http://knoesis.wright.edu/amit/) and Dr. Marimuthu Palaniswami from ARC Research Network on Intelligent Sensors, Sensor Networks and Information Processing (ISSNIP), the University of Melbourne (http://www.issnip.unimelb.edu.au/).

Professor Amit Sheth will be talking on Computing for Human Experience: Semantics empowered Sensors, Services, and Social Computing on ubiquitous Web, and Dr. Palaniswami's talk will be on Large Scale Sensor Networks Deployment: Research Challenges and Opportunities.

All papers are peer reviewed, and proceedings are published by Springer.

Shall there be a match between the conference topics and your current research activities, we would definitely appreciate a submission from your group. If you know of colleagues to whom this conference may be of interested, please feel free to point them to the call for papers.

The submission date is 17 May, 2009, and the conference will take place at the University of Surrey in Guildford, United Kingdom, September 16-18. For more details please refer to: http://www.surrey.ac.uk/eurossc
