CIGE 2009
2nd Workshop on Computational Issues in Genetic Epidemiology
May 15-16, 2009
Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, USA

held in conjunction with

5th International Symposium on Bioinformatics Research and Applications
================================================

The Workshop on Computational Issues in Genetic Epidemiology (CIGE) provides a
forum for computer scientists, geneticists, and statisticians aiming to address
current computational challenges in gene mapping. The first edition of CIGE,
held on August 21-22, 2008 at the DIMACS center of Rutgers University, enjoyed
a great success. The second edition will be held on May 15-16, 2009 in Ft.
Lauderdale, Florida, in conjunction with the 5th International Symposium on
Bioinformatics Research and Applications (ISBRA'09,
http://www.cs.gsu.edu/isbra09/).

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

* Dealing with complex missing data patterns
* Effects of structural genomic variation
* Gene-gene and gene-environment interactions
* Multiple hypotheses testing
* Population substructure
* Using biological networks in whole-genome studies

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Authors are invited to submit abstracts of up to 4 pages in Springer LNCS
format by following the instructions at
http://www.easychair.org/conferences?conf=isbra09 (select the track "Workshop
on Computational Issues in Genetic Epidemiology -- Abstracts"). The abstracts
accepted for either oral or poster presentation will be distributed in
electronic form on the ISBRA'09 website and on CD-ROM. Submission implies the
willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the abstract
at the symposium.
